Kind, gentle, soft spoken, nicest person, gentleman, caring are the words come before me when I think of Sajithanna. Knowing him closely for last one year, made me think how strong a person he was. Very positive, brave, always put a smiling face even when he was not feeling well. Sajithanna died very peacefully, he was very comfortable. Sajithanna had Sandhya, sanjana and Shifali by his side. He listened to all his favorite prayer songs in his last few hours.
Sajithanna will be dearly missed by our Houston Bunt Community. Huge loss to us. All I can say is God loved him more, so he took him closer to him. Sajithanna, I know you are happy and peaceful in heaven. Sandhya, sanjana, shifali we will always be there for you. Stay strong. Love you.

All major Hindu sacred texts, including Bhagvad Gita, Kathopanishad, Shiva Aagamas, Puranas reiterate that as per the cosmic laws, the jiva atma or individual consciousness, cannot be destroyed. It is a reflection of the cosmic consciousness or paramatma. It is bound by karma and maya, and continues its journey from one janma to another towards final liberation – jivan mukti, living a liberated life, or moksha, emancipation from the cycle of birth and death, when it merges back into the cosmic consciousness.
The cosmic consciousness manifests as many jivas to celebrate itself – “Ekoham Bahushyam,” as said in the Vedas and Upanishads.
Jiva atma. travels from one body and mind to another, and continues its journey. It has the same circumstances and resources it had in its previous life, in the next life as well.
वासांसि जीर्णानि यथा विहाय
नवानि गृह्णाति नरोऽपराणि |
तथा शरीराणि विहाय जीर्णा
न्यन्यानि संयाति नवानि देही || 2.22||
Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, verse 22
“Just like people shed worn-out clothes and wear new ones, likewise, it casts off its worn-out body and enters a new one.”
None of us know why Sajit Anna had to leave us this early. Some say that God likes to take away good people early. May be he felt that he had accomplished everything that he had to in this life. Some say that he was done with the cycle of birth and death and that it was time for him to merge with the divine. Some simply believe that there is so much of randomness in this world that many good people die at a young age for no known reason. Just like how Adi Shankaracharya and Swami Vivekananda died at a very young age despite accomplishing mammoth tasks in their lifetimes, we believe that Sajitanna accomplished lot more than what many would take several lives and we wish his soul peaceful merger with the divine. We are grateful to God for manifesting as Sajitanna for 62 years. We pray that the divine Sajitanna will continue to watch us, guide us and give strength to Sandhya and his children, family and friends to live his legacy in peace.
Deha Buddhyaa tu Dasoham Jiva Buddhyaa Tvadaamsakah |
Atma Buddhya Tvamevaaham iti me nishchita matih ||
This is what Lord Hanuman told Lord Rama when Lord Rama asked him the relationship between them. The meaning is “At body level I am your servant, at mind level we are 2 parts of one divine entity and at the divine level we both are one and the same”. For the last 62 years this world has experienced Sajitanna at the level of his body and mind. Now that he has become one with divine, let us honor his soul and live his legacy of divinity and love. Finally let us take solace in knowing that Sajitanna is not suffering now, that he is in a better place with God than where he was and that his Atma will never go die.
