Nancy Ann Nugent

July 26, 1951 – April 18, 2020

Nancy Ann Nugent, 68, passed away on April 18, 2020 at her home.  She was the wife of Mike Nugent.  They shared 28 years of marriage together.

Born in Maryville, TN she was the daughter of TG and Vivian Billingsley. Nancy owned her own shopper service company providing welcome service evaluations to business owners and managers.

She and her husband were members of St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land.  She enjoyed playing golf and teaching swimming.  She will be remembered for her outgoing personality that would light up a room when she walked in and the ability to see and bring out the best in everyone.

Nancy is survived by her spouse, Mike and children David Snyder (Cassindra), Kevin (Aidee) and Brad Nugent (Shauna).  She enjoyed all of her nine grandchildren immensely.

The family is not going to have a service currently, preferring to have a celebration of life for Nancy at a later date.  Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.

Nancy and I met when she and Mike lived in Delaware. Although I didn’t know her very long, we bonded into a friendship that lasted even after she moved back to Texas. She was a welcomed addition to Maple Dale Country Club in Dover as a member of the Women’s Golf Association. I think of her often and will also remember her fondly. She fought a tough fight and was a fighter until the end. Love you, Nancy.

Nancy was a special person. We connected in a way that rarely occurs, and fond memories of her will live on with us for many years. She fought a valiant battle with grace. Our prayers for Mike and all of Nancy’s family.

“Miss Nancy” taught my granddaughter to swim. I had the privilege of attending several.of the sessions. As a teacher myself, I was struck by her creative strategies to instruct her students. She had a presence about her that maintained the students’-attention which motivated them to try harder. The most overriding quality I noticed about her, however, was that always cheerful heart. She brought to so many a life saving skill and an awareness that swimming was the art of dancing on water. What remarkable work to leave behind. May she Rest In Peace, Rise in Glory, and Light perpetual shine upon her.
