Rolando Camacho

Rolando Camacho, 72, of Houston, TX sadly passed away on April 6, 2024, after a lengthy battle with End Stage Renal Disease. Rolando was born in Beeville, TX on October 13, 1951, to Tomas and Irene Camacho Sr.

Rolando was a proud Marine and Vietnam veteran who always said he would gladly serve his country if asked again. Rolando enjoyed cooking, hunting, boxing, playing pool and golf. He loved watching his football team, The Texans and of course, his baseball team the Astros. Rolando will always be known for his funny character, laughter, storytelling and jokes.

Rolando is survived by his two daughters, Julie Roman and Irene (Evaristo) Camacho Reyes; 8 grandchildren, Julessa (Michael) Camacho Lira, James Camacho, Vuressa Roman, Virgilio Daniel (Daysy) Roman, Alvaro Reyes, Francis Reyes, Justin Roman, Caela Reyes; and 7 great grandchildren, Christian, Priscilla, Jason, Melody, Aaliyah, Camilla and Ariana. Rolando is survived by his brothers, Tomas (Alicia) Camacho Sr., Robert (Rosita) Camacho Sr., Raul (Mary) Camacho Sr., and sisters Mary Alice (Joe) Rubio, Yolanda Artavia, Beatrice (Joe) Diaz, Rosalinda (Roland) Crutchfield and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rolando was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Irene Camacho Sr, brothers, Ernest Camacho Sr., Alejandro Camacho Sr., Baldemar Camacho, Ruben Camacho, and grandson Roland Anthony Camacho.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, James Camacho, Virgilio Daniel Roman, Alvaro Reyes, Justin Roman, grandson in law Michael Lira and great grandson Christian Lira. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.

Visitation will be on April 16, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sugar Land Mortuary, 1818 Eldridge Rd, Sugar Land, TX 77478. A rosary will commence at 6:30 pm.

The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Sugar Land Mortuary, 1818 Eldridge Rd, Sugar Land, TX 77478.

Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, at 1:15 pm.

A reception will follow at Sugar Land Mortuary at 3:30 pm

    You will be dearly missed. We love you so much. Say hello to our family up in heaven and tell them that we will all be united one day. You were always the one to keep us laughing with your facial expressions and those jokes. I believe that your daughter, Irene has inherited that trait.
