Teresita (Ting, Mama Tessie) Espinosa Mercado, daughter of the late Longinos and Gloria Espinosa was born on October 1, 1951 in Mati, Davao Oriental, Philippines. She is the sister of nine siblings, Tatang (deceased), Ilda (deceased), Cindang, Pipit, Meemay (deceased), Pito, Doring, JongJong.

She was united in holy matrimony to Romeo Mercado on May 19, 1974 and came to America in 1978.  Teresita enjoyed spending time with her family/friends, dancing, singing and swimming in her beach at Kadanlaan.  She welcomed all with open arms into her home, specifically her kitchen.

She is survived by her husband, Romeo, her three children, Lord Jay (Jinggoy), Carlo (Lotoy) and wife Eva, and Michelle and husband RG, and five granddaughters, Faith, Mikaella, Emma, Tessa and Millie.  She sadly departed this life on March 25, 2024 in Houston, TX and was preceded in death by her granddaughter Elle.

A visitation for Teresita will be held on Wednesday, April 3 from 1:00pm – 8:00pm at Sugar Land Mortuary, 1818 Eldridge Road in Sugar Land.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 4 at 10:00am at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 7720 Boone Road in Houston.
